Spring Updates from UConn Admissions

UCONN
The madness of March has come and gone, and as our newly admitted students begin to make important choices about where they’ll spend the next four years, we also know that many juniors are starting to build their college lists.
To help you navigate this busy time, I’d like to take this opportunity to share a few important updates and reminders to support students and families as they plan for what’s ahead.

Admissions Updates
Application Availability – If any of your students are still interested in joining UConn Nation, please remind them that the application to the Storrs main campus remains open on a space-available basis, and our regional campus application deadline is May 1.
Enrollment Fee & Housing Application Deadlines – UConn’s enrollment fee deadline for incoming fall 2026 first-year and transfer students is May 1. The housing application deadline is May 22, but those students interested in participating in a Learning Community are encouraged to apply by May 1 for priority consideration. Housing application information is sent via email to students 3-5 days after submission of the enrollment fee.
Financial Aid – Students who completed the FAFSA should visit their applicant portal by May 1 to accept, reduce, or decline any offer of financial aid they may have received. Please encourage your students to contact One Stop Student Services by emailing onestop@uconn.edu or calling (860) 486-1111 if they have any questions about their financial aid offer.
Appeals, Change Requests, and Deferments – First-year students wishing to appeal their admission decision, request a change of major or campus, or defer their admission must complete the Admission Appeal and Change Request Form in their applicant portal. Appeal notifications will be sent in late spring.
Test-Optional Policy – While some colleges and universities have reinstated their standardized testing requirement, we want to remind you that UConn is offering first-year applicants the option to submit standardized test results for the foreseeable future.

Connection Opportunities
High school juniors are always encouraged to get a head start on the college search process by visiting a UConn campus throughout the spring and summer months. If your students can’t make it to campus, registration is also available for our prospective student webinar, Admissions & Financial Aid Early Planning, on Tuesday, May 19 at 7 p.m. ET.
