The Harvard Crimson’s Summer Journalism Academy (SJA) is a two-week in-person and virtual offering from July 7-16, where high school students of all experience levels have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the ins and outs of an independent newspaper. SJA teaches students the fundamentals of journalism—article writing, best reporting practices, and even revenue generation—while providing insight into the workings of one of the leading collegiate journalism publications from current Crimson editors. Attendees will participate in workshops, seminars, panels, and in-person reporting opportunities led by all the different board of The Crimson. By the end of the program, students will have developed a comprehensive journalism portfolio that can be submitted to competitions, colleges, and other publications.
