Now that we’ve entered Fall 2026, and the college application has officially opened, I wanted to reach out with some important information for any students interested in the University of Kentucky.
Our application can be found here, with students able to apply via CommonApp or directly through our website. We are an Early Action institution requiring applications to be submitted in full before December 1st, 2026, for students wishing to be considered for scholarship, priority on-campus housing or Lewis Honors College consideration.
When applying, students can find helpful information on an Application Checklist here. Please note the University of Kentucky reviews GPA’s based upon an unweighted status. Students can also find helpful information relating to Tuition & Fees as well as Scholarships via the attached links. UK is test optional.

To be accepted to the Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering, first-time freshmen applicants must meet one of the following admission pathways:
- An ACT Math score of 25 or SAT Math score of 590 and an unweighted high school GPA of 3.0; or
- Enrollment and subsequent completion of high school calculus and an unweighted high school GPA of 3.0; or
- Enrollment and subsequent completion of high school precalculus and an unweighted high school GPA of 3.30; or
- An unweighted high school GPA of 3.65; or
- Proctored ALEKS math placement exam score of 61 and an unweighted high school GPA of 3.0.
Note: AP credit, such as an AP Calculus AB score of 3 or higher, or transfer credit allowing enrollment into MA 113 or higher also meets math readiness admission requirements.
Students who are not initially admitted into the Pigman College of Engineering may seek admission at a later date as a transfer student.
