The NCAA Division I membership has adopted an age-based eligibility model, effective August 1, 2026. High school administrators and students with questions can learn more on the Eligibility 101 page. For recent graduates enrolling at NCAA schools this Fall and for any other student-athletes being recruited by NCAA coaches, further discussions about this change should be directed to the athletics compliance office at those schools. The Eligibility Center is working to provide additional information about the student’s period of eligibility within certification accounts in early August. Please note that all other initial eligibility requirements for Division I and Division II remain unchanged.
