Summer/Fall 2025 Application Open
Penn State’s summer/fall 2025 application opened August 1. Students can apply via Common App or the MyPennState Portal, and see application requirements and instructions.
We strongly encourage students to submit their applications with all required items by the November 1 Early Action deadline. Early Action provides students priority consideration for admission to their top-choice program, campus, and start term, and non-binding admission offers earlier in the cycle. Please remind students that all required items must be submitted with their applications by the deadline, including the Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR) and optional official SAT or ACT scores if they would like the scores reviewed with the application. Penn State is test-optional. We recommend students submit their applications at least a few days before November 1, which allows time for the SRAR and official test scores from testing agencies to be received at Penn State by the deadline.
Students who meet the November 1 Early Action deadline will likely receive an admission decision by the end of December.
Students who complete their application after the November 1 Early Action deadline will be evaluated on a rolling admissions basis.
Some programs are not eligible for Early Action.
Completing the Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR)
We recognize that the SRAR can be daunting for students to complete, so we put together the SRAR FAQs to help along the way. If you have any questions or need more guidance, please reach out to us at admissions@psu.edu.
New Admissions Website
Our new admissions website is now live as part of Penn State’s new digital platform for psu.edu. Bookmark the Information for Counselors page and see a more vibrant “Explore Penn State” section with a new “Diversity and Belonging” area featuring our Admissions Strategic Partnerships office. We are excited for what the new digital experience will offer our Enrollment Management offices and the University’s web environment altogether.
‘Spend a Fall Day’ at University Park
Seniors applying to Penn State will be invited on a special ‘Spend a Fall Day’ bus trip to the University Park campus, November 17–18! The diversity-focused event offers students helpful guidance on the admissions process, student organizations, and how to get ready for their Penn State journey. The trip includes bus transportation from select locations and overnight accommodation in a residence hall. Registration opens soon!
