GCHS a Positive Influence for William Peranteau ’93 and His Family

from Gloucester Catholic High School in 1993, and has since emerged as a respected medical professional in Philadelphia. Dr. Peranteau, who joined the staff of Children’s Hospital and the University of Pennsylvania in 2012, credits his local upbringing with his success in family life and his professional career.

Peranteau’s family has enjoyed deep roots in Gloucester City for several decades. His mom, Mrs. Mary Joyce Hughes Peranteau, a 1963 Gloucester Catholic graduate, still lives on Middlesex Street today. His grandmother, Mary Joyce, was in the first graduating class of Gloucester Catholic and also resided in Gloucester City. His dad Joseph Peranteau, passed away in the mid 1990s.
