PENN STATE

Fall 2021 Recruitment Updates
Though the Early Action deadline has passed, there is still plenty of time for students to submit an application to Penn State! From this point on, all admission decisions will be made on a rolling basis. If you have questions about the application or any academic programs, you are invited to email admissions@psu.edu .
Fall Virtual Out-of-State Information Sessions
Students outside of Pennsylvania who were unable to join us at one of our in-person events in your area this fall, we are happy to announce that we will be hosting virtual Prospective Student information sessions specifically for our out-of-state students in the coming weeks! We will cover broad information about Penn State’s academic, extracurricular, and professional development opportunities. In addition to talking about the application and review process, we will also be able to answer any questions individuals may have about Penn State. We also hope to have current Penn State students available to talk about their student and campus experience
Students can register for these out-of-state specific virtual sessions here:
Wednesday, December 8 at 8:00 p.m. (ET):

We will, of course, also continue hosting a multitude of events for all students and throughout all of our campuses. You can find our complete and current slate of in-person and virtual events on our Experience Penn State page.
Scholarship Deadlines
The FAFSA opened on October 1, with a priority filing date of December 1. And though this is the primary tool Penn State uses to award financial aid, there are other specialized scholarship deadlines for students and families to keep in mind. If students want to be considered for the Schreyer Honors College or Millenium Scholars Program, they must submit their applications by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on December 6. Other dates and deadlines for college-specific scholarships can be found on our Office of Student Aid website.
Broadcasting and Film Production Summer Camp Opportunities
The Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State offers hands-on summer camp opportunities for students interested in broadcast journalism and film production, July 10 – 15, 2022 at the University Park campus. These residential summer camps offer high school students the chance to experience media related careers while working in our state-of-the-art studios. You can learn more about Penn State summer camps online.
Discover Penn State
As residents of one of our neighboring states, your students may be eligible to receive Penn State’s Discover Award. Through our Discover Award, qualifying students save $6,000 per year in their first two years of their Penn State education and $7,000 per year in their third and fourth year when they attend a Penn State campus other than the University Park campus. That’s up to $26,000 in total if they start and finish their degree at a Penn State campus other than the University Park campus. If the student decides to transition to the University Park campus for their third and fourth years, they will realize two years of significant savings toward your Penn State degree.
A Penn State degree is recognized around the country and around the world. One-third of Penn State students attend a campus other than the University Park campus. Through its campuses located in cities and towns across Pennsylvania, Penn State gives students the opportunity to start and finish a Penn State degree at one campus or the flexibility to transition to complete a degree at another campus. These campuses offer the resources of a major university in a close-knit, student-centered atmosphere.
To be eligible for the Discover Award, please submit the FAFSA by December 1.
